Sam Hiatt's Bachelorette (kind of) party/gathering

Sam Hiatt is getting married this weekend:)

Being that Sam is here at home, she didn't have anyone to throw her a bachelorette party! A couple local girls and I talked about how if she were at school, her friends and/or roommates would have thrown her a party - but they aren't here right now. We decided we would work it out with her sisters and family to kidnap her and have a girls night out:) We agreed we should keep it fairly short as Shane (her fiance) is in town, & we didn't want to keep her away from him long!

A few days ago I called her Aunt to find out what Sam's plans were out at the farm this week. Between Xann and her sister Erin we determined that today (Tuesday) would be best on the family for us to pick her up. Katey had cross country so she wasn't going to be able to participate in the festivities. Erin was going to try and get off work early to come be with us too...

This afternoon I called Erin to let her know where we'd be for her to meet up with us when she get's off. She relayed the following excuses (in this order) why she wasn't going to be able to attend her sisters small gathering!
1. "Sam would probably prefer to spend time with you and the girls!
2. "my mom is pretty stressed, and could probably use some help with things tonight"
3. "What it really is, is I wanted to help Troy with the cabins this evening."

I couldn't make Erin come, nor was I going to be able to convince her. She had every excuse in the book. If she didn't want to go, she didn't want to go.

We kidnapped Sam (who had literally just woken up from a nap) at 3:30 pm. She had no idea where we were taking her, and repeatedly asked "Where are we going?" She was all confused when we got in the car and headed out of town. We drove to Sandpoint and straight to the Nail salon. Sam choose to get a "full set" of acrylic nails with a french manicure tip:) They looked so adorable. While Samantha was getting her nails done, Kyli and Doni Tompkins and Kyra - all from Bonners Ferry - and I waited on the couch. We asked her to tell us the proposal story and also had the opportunity to hear in depth details about her wedding, plans for the reception and honeymoon. It was fun girlie time!

Samantha wanted to keep them short and practical as she has a lot of setting up to do within the next few days!

Later we told Sam we were going to take her to dinner. We wanted the evening to be all about things she wanted, so we gave her a choice of restaurants. She decided she wanted Mexican - so we drove to Jalapenos. After eating - while Sam was in the bathroom - we told the waitress it was Sam's birthday. They soon came out with a dessert and a sombrero! haha, I think the server could see that it wasn't actually her birthday. They didn't say anything though, lucky us!

Overall it was such a fun evening, and I hope Samantha had fun:) I wish her the best in her marriage and the journey her and Shane are about the begin together! I'm so excited for her, and look up to her in so many different ways! Thanks Samantha for a Girls Night Out!
